No Excuses: Here’s Where to Clean (Fast) While Working From Home
Working from home has become the new normal for many of us and with that comes a whole array of new challenges, particularly if you have kids. Most people who do work from home are used to being office-bugs from 9AM-5PM. Either their home is empty during the day, or their significant other might be home intermittently. Either way, the home is generally unoccupied.
Given this busy lifestyle, it is entirely understandable that most people do not keep on top of their cleaning around the house. The introduction of COVID-19 and the shift to a work-from-home workforce gave us time to pause from the mundane (and public transport) and gave us more time to clean our spaces... or less excuses to do so!
Even if you do work from home, you still need to take breaks. It is healthy for you to step away from your desk or dinner table, wherever you have your laptop perched, and stretch and maybe make a sandwich or what have you. This can also be an opportunity for you to clean.
Here’s where you can clean while you’re taking these short breaks.
Bathroom, Kitchen Taps & Stainless Steel Surfaces
This quick once-over on all of your taps is essential to maintaining a healthy environment in the kitchen and bathroom. Limescale, toothpaste and all manner of other disgusting things builds up on your taps and needs to be gone. Use Scrub Daddy’s new PowerPaste, combined with the Scrub Mommy pad for maximum results.
Throw on a Load of Laundry
Use some of The Pink Stuff's Laundry Gel when you have that spare few minutes to throw in a load of laundry, the fresh and fruity fragrance infuses your clothes for a brilliant clean and 7 days of freshness. Laundry only takes a couple of minutes to put on and means that you have less to do when the day is over, which means you can relax more.
Vacuum Parts of the House
If you split the vacuuming into two of your ten-minute breaks, you’ll get it done in no time at all. Quick bursts of the vacuum per room mean that you’ll cut down on the amount of vacuuming you’ll have to do later in the week, and not neglect to vacuum your space at all - which does happen - some people don’t vacuum for months because there is the illusion in place of not having enough time. If you split up your vacuuming gradually throughout a single work day, you can get all of the vacuuming done in one day and then not have to do it again for a week or two.
Doing the Dishes
If you don’t have kids, then dishes unfortunately become your responsibility. If you don’t have a dishwasher, then the ten minutes it takes you to wash the dishes (you can just leave them in the drying rack), will make you feel good about having a cleaner kitchen. Use some of Fabulosa’s dish detergent to make sure that your dishes are sparkling clean. And of course, you HAVE to try our Dish Daddy. He makes doing the dishes so easy.
Taking ten minutes out of your work day is all you need and using those ten minutes to perform a simple and quick cleaning task is good for you. It’ll make you feel less overwhelmed and like you’ve done something productive with that break. Do these small cleaning tasks often enough and it’ll become part of your workday routine.
