7 Steps To Clean Out Your Life

Spring cleaning isn't just for your home, you can also apply the same ideas to cleansing your life. Every area of your life could use a little extra attention from time to time but working out where to start can be the biggest challenge. To help, here are seven simple ways you can cleanse your life.

Address Your Fitness Routine

A change will do you good, whether you don't exercise at all or you're set in your workout ways. Challenge yourself with a big goal, such as a 10k, a new class, or a new sport altogether. Don't be afraid to experiment to keep yourself in shape, working out shouldn't be a chore!

Redefining Relationships

We never stop evolving as people, but as we do, we might grow in different directions from the people in our lives. Your friendships might change, you may outgrow some, others may outgrow you, you must know you can redefine your relationships. If you feel strained with certain people then you need to ask yourself what that means. Do you need to invest more time in that relationship or do you need to walk away from it?

Build a Budget

Never underestimate the power of budgeting. Don't wait until your card is rejected at the shops to budget your money, get ahead of the stress. Look at your finances and work out a plan to save for a rainy day, whether it means skipping the coffee shop or packing your lunches. Budgeting can help you make your money work harder for you.

Unplug

You love your phone, you love the internet, you love technology, but it's eating up all of your time. With all of the world's information and entertainment at your fingertips, it's easy to see why we love technology as much as we do. But, sometimes a break is necessary. Make unplugging a new tickbox on your schedule. Unplug and pick up a new hobby, whether it's reading, crafting, or giving a new sport a shot. Taking time off of the internet is good for your mood and your mental health.

Declutter

You might think of decluttering as literal spring cleaning, which it is, but it also has an impact on your mind. In addition to a mood boost decluttering improves focus , increases self-esteem, reduces symptoms of allergies and asthma, strengthens relationships, and improves your well-being too. Declutter to clean out your life.

Revisit Your Schedule

Decluttering your possessions is a good start, but keep going and consider decluttering your schedule! If you don't already have a planner, it's time to start using one. You don't have to plan every second of your day, but you can slot in your typical daily tasks, special appointments, and errands because from there you can give yourself free time to pursue hobbies, dates, and fun! Then you know what's happening when and with fun factored in you have things to look forward to. The only way to improve your time management is to manage your time.

Stress Test

It's time to detox your emotions! Every emotion that you feel is valid, whether it's negative or positive it is your natural reaction. Unfortunately, we tend to hold on too tight to those negative emotions and we never stop to consider whether they are true. You have to feel those negative emotions, but you have to let them go and understand they do not serve you. Don't beat yourself up for mistakes, don't obsess over failure, or hold on tightly to hate and anger. Feel the emotion, label it, and let it go.

While we can’t help you with cleaning up your entire life, we can certainly assist with the basics at home.
